What this policy covers

This policy explains what information DoCalc.net ("DoCalc," "we," "us") collects when you use our calculators and website, and how that information is used. We built DoCalc to minimize what we collect in the first place — most of what you type into this site never leaves your browser.

Calculator inputs stay in your browser

The numbers you enter into any DoCalc calculator — revenue, costs, customer counts, loan amounts, and similar figures — are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. They are never transmitted to, or stored on, our servers. Closing or refreshing the page clears everything you entered.

Information we do collect

  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and calculators are used, in aggregate, once you've consented via our cookie banner. This includes standard data like pages visited, approximate location (city/country level), device type, and referral source. Individual calculator inputs are never included in this data.
  • Contact form: If you contact us, we collect the name, email, and message you provide, solely to respond to your inquiry.
  • Email subscriptions (where offered): If a page offers email updates and you sign up, we collect your email address and any interests you select, solely to send you the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Cookies

We use a first-party cookie consent banner: analytics cookies only load after you accept them. Declining still lets you use every calculator normally. We do not use cookies for advertising retargeting at this time; if that changes, we'll update this policy and the consent banner accordingly.

Advertising

DoCalc currently runs a small amount of self-managed, first-party display advertising — ad creative we control directly rather than a third-party ad network serving personalized ads based on your browsing. If we add a third-party ad network or affiliate tracking in future, we'll update this policy and disclose it here before it goes live.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy: Google Analytics (analytics, consent-gated), Netlify (hosting and site infrastructure). None of these services receive your calculator inputs.

Data retention

Contact form and email messages are retained only as long as needed to respond to you and keep a reasonable support record, then deleted. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' standard retention settings.

Children's privacy

DoCalc is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (primarily your email address, if you've contacted us or subscribed) by contacting us at support@docalc.net. Residents of the EU/EEA and California have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively; contact us to exercise them.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever this policy changes materially, and post the update here.
